Wireless Hotspot Provider Boingo, Swedish Network Join Forces
Wireless Internet hotspot provider Boingo Wireless yesterday announced an agreement with Sweden's TeliaSonera Homerun network, giving it nearly 4,000 hotspot locations in the country, including several hotels, airports and train stations.
Under the agreement, Boingo users can use TeliaSonera Homerun's hotspots, which include locations at Best Western, Clarion, Quality and Ibis hotels in the country, as well as Swedish airports and train stations. Conversely, TeliaSonera Homerun's customers now have access to Boingo's network, which includes major hotel chains and 59 airports worldwide.
"Boingo continues to expand its network, and the addition of TeliaSonera Homerun is a critical addition to our Nordic and European footprint," Boingo Wireless vice president of network strategy Luis Serrano said in a statement.
Boingo claims to have a network of more than 100,000 locations from 150 wireless Internet operators, spanning 90 countries.
