U.K.-based travel management company Hogg Robinson Group has
promoted its Europe and Asia boss, Kevin Ruffles, to the position of chief
operating officer, it announced Monday. Ruffles, who had been regional
president of Europe and Asia/Pacific since 2007, will assume his new role on
Oct. 1. He also joins the board of HRG in an executive role.
HRG has a reputation for longevity of service, especially
among senior management, but even by these standards Ruffles is exceptional,
having started at the group in 1972. A spokeswoman said he will retain
oversight of the business in Europe and Asia/Pacific.
"This new appointment reflects the absolute importance
of ensuring our service across international boundaries is as seamless as
possible when our clients demand it," said HRG chief executive David
Radcliffe. "Kevin's primary role will be to further strengthen that
capability whilst also ensuring we retain our capability to offer a first-class
service on a local country basis."
