ATA: Swine Flu Worsens Already Weak May Demand
The Air Transport Association today said passenger revenue fell 26 percent in May, compared with the same period in 2008, representing the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year revenue declines.
ATA reported the number of passengers in May fell nearly 10 percent while average yield declined nearly 18 percent. ATA president and CEO James May said the H1N1 influenza outbreak "compounded an already weak demand situation" in May.
