Japan Airlines plans to lower fuel surcharges added to international tickets issued in October and November,
according to a request submitted to the Japanese government. For flight segments between Japan and Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the United States (excluding Hawaii), the new surcharge would fall to $264 from the current $296. JAL said it sets bi-monthly fuel surcharges on the "two-month average price of Singapore kerosene-type jet fuel."
