Trainline has released new app features that it said were designed to assist customers particularly during disruptions, the U.K.-based rail and coach company announced Monday.
Features include a "travel forecast," which notifies customers if their train is likely to be delayed or canceled. Users also can see the current location of their train.
"Delay repay notifications" will alert customers when they may be entitled to compensation and then can redirect users to the relevant operator "while surfacing all information required to complete their claim," according to Trainline.
The update includes a live "travel assistant" AI chatbot, a beta version of which had launched earlier this year. It has answered "the majority of queries, with less than 10 percent picked up by customer service representatives," according to the company.
A "train swap" feature allows customers to change their travel plans. They will continue to receive live journey information via push notifications on their new itinerary and secure a new seat reservation, "if they're swapping an Advance ticket," according to Trainline.
