Florida's Brightline rail provider on Sept. 9 will launch "Flex" fares for trips to or from Orlando, the company announced.
Flex fares allow customers to cancel anytime and receive a full refund to an original form of payment. They also let customers change a trip prior to 24 hours before departure for the fare difference, or within 24 hours to any other departure on the same date at no additional charge, according to Brightline. In addition, Flex customers get one complimentary large tagged bag, two carry-on bags and a personal item, and a complimentary one-way Miami or Fort Lauderdale airport shuttle transfer.
The addition means Brightline on Orlando tickets will offer three fare options for its Smart coaches: Flex, Select and Saver. Premium coaches, which the operator categorizes as first class, will have Flex and Select fare options.
Select fares can be canceled with a 75 percent Brightline credit or modified with a change fee and applicable fare difference at any time, according to the company. Select fares also include two carry-on size bags and a personal item.
Saver fares are cancellable, but do not retain any credit and cannot be modified, according to Brightline. Customers are allowed one carry-on size beg and a personal item.
