The new terminal at Hollywood Burbank Airport in California opened Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
The new $1.3 billion facility replaces the former terminal in use since 1930 and includes 355,000 square feet, 14 gates—the same number as previously—one centralized ticketing hall, one U.S. Transportation Security Administration checkpoint, one indoor baggage claim area, new restaurants and retail and a new parking garage.
In addition, there are wireless charging stations at every gate's seating area, according to KABC, which added that rideshare passengers now will use a new pickup lot near the terminal, while rental-car customers will take shuttles to the existing rental-car facility.
The airport is served by Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air, Breeze Airways and JetBlue, according to the airport's website.
