Mosaic status members of JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program beginning Feb. 1 will be eligible for complimentary space-available upgrades to BlueFirst, JetBlue's new domestic first-class cabin set to debut in December, the carrier announced Thursday.
Priority will be based on tier level, with Mosaic 4 at the top, descending to Mosaic 1, then followed by JetBlue Premier cardmembers without Mosaic status. Other factors that will determine a spot on the upgrade list include how a customer paid for their flight, the fare purchased and the number of tiles—JetBlue's loyalty currency— earned in the program year.
Upgrades will apply only to JetBlue-operated flights that have BlueFirst. They are not available for flights that have Mint, JetBlue's business-class cabin, or on partner airlines, according to the carrier. Customers who purchase Main Base and EvenMore Base fares also are not eligible for the upgrade.
Eligible members automatically will be added to the upgrade list. Upgrades will begin one hour prior to departure. Those who receive an upgrade will be notified in the JetBlue app and by email.
There will be more ways to upgrade. Premium Upgrade Certificates, previously known as Move to Mint certificates, will be valid for Mint or BlueFirst seats. Starting Feb. 1, Mosaic 2 members will be able to select an upgrade certificate as a Perks You Pick benefit, according to JetBlue. Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members will continue to receive those certificates as part of their Mosaic Signature perks. Mosaic 4 members also can earn additional certificates for every 100 additional program tiles earned.
Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members will have access to expanded Perks You Pick options, including larger points bonuses, additional upgrade opportunities and new ways to share benefits with other TrueBlue members, such as the ability of Mosaic 4 members to gift Mosaic 3 status or gift BlueHouse Lounge membership.
Also beginning in 2027, TrueBlue members will be able to reselect a favorite perk at subsequent eligible tile milestones rather than being limited to choosing each perk only once, with 60 days after reaching that milestone to make their selection.
Other Mosaic perks "are staying largely the same," according to JetBlue, with two additions: There will be a pet fee waiver once a customer reaches Mosaic 2, and eligible JetBlue premier cardmembers with Mosaic 3 or Mosaic 4 status will earn five times TrueBlue points per $1 on eligible purchases at restaurants and grocery stores, up to $50,000 per calendar year. The current standard is two times per $1 spent on eligible purchases.
In addition, some perks will depart the Perks You Pick program on Feb. 1, including Mint Suite priority, $99 statement credit with select JetBlue credit cards, FoundersCard membership, IHG Hotels & Resorts status and the pet-fee waiver, according to the carrier. Those perks will remain available through Jan. 31.
