All Nippon Airways has expanded its sustainable aviation fuel program to individual customers, complementing its existing corporate program, the carrier announced Thursday.
The new personal program is part of ANA's SAF Flight Initiative. Through a partnership with Norwegian software company Chooose, individual customers at the time of their ticket purchase can view estimates of their flights' CO2 emissions and purchase SAF "environmental attributes which contribute to aviation decarbonization," according to the carrier.
The price is calculated based on the selected route, boarding class and SAF purchase percentage. Fees incurred from the program operation are included. Chooose will issue receipts and purchase certificates. Under the personal program, Chooose issues a more simplified purchase certificate than the third-party-certified CO2 reduction certificates provided under the corporate program, according to ANA.
ANA launched its SAF corporate program in June 2022, according to a SAF report it released in May 2026 in conjunction with Japan Airlines.
