Westjet has named VP of network and revenue John Weatherill its new chief commercial officer, replacing Arved von zur Muehlen, who will depart the carrier March 5, according to WestJet.
Weatherill joined WestJet in 2013 and since has served several roles, including VP of network planning and alliances and VP of pricing and revenue management. He "has been instrumental in the growth of WestJet, including its move into transatlantic operations, premium cabin growth, branded fares, new ancillary products, and with the support of his team, managing the dramatic effects this pandemic has had on the airline's network and schedule," according to the carrier.
Von zur Muehlen has served as WestJet chief commercial officer since 2019. "Arved's strategic thinking and ability have been of huge value to WestJet," said WestJet president and CEO Ed Sims in a statement.
