Virgin Atlantic has named chief customer and operating officer Corneel Koster as its new CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2026, the carrier announced Monday. Koster will succeed current CEO Shai Weiss, who has been at the helm of the airline since January 2019 and will step down.
Koster rejoined Virgin Atlantic in 2019 as a board member and chief customer officer, then expanded his role in 2020. He previously was director of operations and security at Virgin Atlantic from 2010-2013. Koster also has held senior operational and commercial roles at Delta Air Lines, Aeromexico and KLM, according to Virgin Atlantic.
