Anthony Uphill
Virgin Atlantic has named former American Express Travel executive Anthony Uphill as its new VP of sales, effective May 5, the carrier announced Wednesday.
In his new role, Uphill will be responsible for the carrier's sales performance, including direct accountability for corporate and agency sales, according to Virgin Atlantic. He will work with Virgin Atlantic joint-venture partners Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM "while exploring new revenue growth opportunities with SkyTeam and other partner airlines."
Uphill most recently was director of international partnerships and strategy at American Express Travel. He also has held positions at American Express Global Business Travel, Etihad Airways and British Airways, according to his LinkedIn profile.
