United has added domestic service to 33 new destinations in
18 states over the past four months as part of a strategy to strengthen its
hubs. The carrier also has increased frequencies and/or aircraft size on more
than 40 routes from its hubs. United announced the strategy
early this year to regain market share after shifting out of many regional
markets years ago. Later this year, United will continue to build from its
Washington Dulles hub with new daily service to Miami beginning Dec. 19 and
increased service to Orlando and Tampa.
