The U.S. and U.K. have reached an Open
Skies agreement to maintain the relationship currently covered by the U.S.'s
agreement with the European Union, in advance of the U.K.'s planned withdrawal
from the EU next year. The agreement "ensures that planes flying from the
U.K. will continue to enjoy the same access they currently have with the
U.S," according to a statement by the U.K. Department of Transport. A
bilateral agreement between the U.K. and Canada has reached "an advanced
stage," and the U.K. has already reached agreements with Albania, Georgia,
Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Montenegro, Morocco and Switzerland.
