U.S. flight cancellations reached an all-time low of 0.3 percent in September, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. September's rate, down from August 2016's 1.4 percent and September 2015's 0.4 percent in, was the lowest since the U.S. DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics started tracking them in January 1995. Carriers reported 2.23 mishandled baggage reports per 1,000 passengers, also down from 3.15 in August and 2.41 in September 2015. The on-time-arrival rate for September was 85.5 percent, down a percentage point year over year but up from 77.6 percent in August.
