Justin Jones
Southwest Airlines has promoted EVP of operations Justin Jones to chief commercial officer, effective immediately, the carrier announced Thursday. He now reports to CEO Bob Jordan.
The move frees up chief operating officer Andrew Watterson, who for the past year or so had pulled double duty overseeing Southwest's commercial side amid structural changes, to fully focus on the carrier's operations, according to Southwest.
In Jones' new role, he will lead network planning, capacity planning, revenue management, pricing, Southwest Business and airport affairs. He also will be responsible for "advancing an integrated commercial strategy that aligns network, pricing, and sales to support revenue growth as Southwest expands into new destinations and introduces new products," according to the carrier.
In addition, Southwest chief customer and brand officer Tony Roach also now reports directly to Jordan, with chief people officer Elizabeth Bryant and the people, learning and development team reporting to Roach.
