José María "Chema" Alvarado
Philippine Airlines has named José María "Chema" Alvarado as regional head of North America, effective as of Feb. 1, the carrier announced Feb. 18. Alvarado is based in New York City and reports to VP of sales and distribution Justin Warby.
Alvarado's remit includes "overseeing sales and distribution across North America, driving revenue performance, and expanding travel trade and corporate relationships," according to Philippine Airlines.
"North America is a cornerstone market for PAL and one that is marked for significant growth with increased frequencies and the deployment of our new long-haul flagship aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000," Warby said in a statement.
Alvarado most recently was SVP of strategic partnerships at Mondee. Prior positions include chief commercial officer at Arajet, EVP of supplier relations and distribution at Fareportal, and director of sales, marketing and loyalty at Oneworld, according to his LinkedIn profile.
