Izham Ismail
Malaysia Aviation Group has named Malaysian Airlines COO Nasaruddin Bakar as president and group CEO of the carrier, effective Jan. 31, 2026, the company announced.
Bakar will succeed Izham Ismail, who is retiring and who had been group managing director. The role of president and group CEO will replace the group managing director position. Ismail has been in his role since Dec. 1, 2017.
Bakar has more than three decades of experience in flight operations, management and strategic roles within Malaysia Aviation Group, according to the company.
