Lufthansa is retrofitting 38 of its Airbus A320 aircraft, with the project scheduled to be completed by 2029, the carrier announced Thursday.
The updated cabins already are available on long-haul routes, but this retrofit will affect aircraft used for short- and medium-haul flights.
The updated cabins will have new seats, 40 percent larger overhead bins, USB-A and -C ports at each seat, new headrests, holders for tablets and smartphones, and in business class, "a backrest that reclines especially far."
