Lufthansa has canceled 816 Tuesday short-haul flights and 890 Wednesday short- and long-haul flights as it faces its second week of strikes from its pilots' union. The canceled flights represent slightly less than a third of the 3,000 flights Lufthansa had on the schedule for each day. Since the strikes began last week, Lufthansa already had canceled 4,461 flights, affecting more than 525,000 passengers. To accommodate travelers, the carrier is allowing them to rebook without charge on its sister carriers—including Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, none of which is affected by the strikes—and also is offering vouchers for rail travel via Deutsche Bahn.
