JetBlue plans to revamp its fare structure as the carrier prepares to introduce domestic first-class service, the airline announced Monday.
Rolling out "in the coming days," the new fare options will let customers choose first from among four onboard experiences: Main (formerly Core), EvenMore, BlueFirst or Mint. They then will be able to select one of three fare options within that experience: Base, Standard or Flex.
The options are similar to the fare segmentations United Airlines and Delta Air Lines have introduced in recent months.
- Base is the most basic option. It offers the lowest available fare, but seat selection is not included, and cancellations will receive a travel credit less any applicable fee, according to JetBlue.
- Standard includes seat selection, no change fees and a travel credit for eligible cancellations.
- Flex is the most flexible option and offers seat selection, no change fees and a refund to the original form of payment for eligible cancellations.
JetBlue noted that TrueBlue Mosaic members and JetBlue credit cardholders will retain the same benefits they had previously. Customers who already have booked travel under JetBlue's current fare offerings will continue to receive the benefits under the terms associated with the fare they originally purchased.
