JetBlue has expanded codesharing with Icelandair to seven
European destinations, the carrier announced.
Icelandair is now including JetBlue's code on its routes
from Reykjavik to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Helsinki, Manchester, Oslo
and Stockholm. That is about a third of Icelandair's European routes from
Reykjavik, and JetBlue plans to codeshare on more of its routes in the future.
JetBlue and Icelandair have been partners since 2011, and
JetBlue currently codeshares on Icelandair's service between Reykjavik and
Boston and both Newark Liberty and John F. Kennedy International airports. The
carriers in 2017 began allowing members of their respective loyalty programs to
earn points on both carrier flights and plan to soon allow reciprocal
redemption of loyalty points.
This fall, JetBlue started
its own first transatlantic service to London, and the expanded codesharing
"provides customers even more choice for travel across the Atlantic,"
JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes said in a statement.
