American Airlines plans to add a new Admirals Club in
Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which would be the largest such lounge
in its network, the carrier announced Tuesday.
Set to be located in the airport's atrium on the mezzanine
level, the lounge is planned to span more than 40,000 square feet and offer
views of the concourse below, spa-style shower suites, bars and dining options.
Construction is slated to begin this year, according to American.
The Provisions by Admirals Club lounge near Gate A1 and the
Admirals Club lounges in Concourse B and Concourse C/D each will remain open
during construction, according to the carrier.
American in August 2025 also announced it was building a
Flagship lounge at Charlotte Douglas. The carrier has not indicated when either
new lounge is scheduled to be completed.
