American Airlines will expand high-speed Wi-Fi to its entire dual-class regional fleet by early 2026, the carrier announced Tuesday.
American announced in November 2023 that it would make high-speed Wi-Fi available on nearly 500 dual-class regional aircraft. Gate-to-gate Wi-Fi currently is available on nearly 300 regional aircraft, according to the carrier.
The move is part of an American Airlines' rollout beginning this fall of its "refreshed" regional jets.
Newly delivered Embraer 175 and Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft and retrofitted CRJ700, CRJ900, E170 and E175 aircraft "over the coming years" will offer in-seat power and updated interiors. American also is working with Embraer to design larger overhead bins for its larger regional aircraft.
In January, American will begin to offer complimentary Wi-Fi for its AAdvantage loyalty program members.
