Cees Verkerk
Alaska Airlines has named three executives to new regional leadership roles, created in support of the carrier's international growth, Alaska announced Monday.
Alaska managing director of airport services Cees Verkerk has been named managing director for the U.K. and Europe, according to the carrier. He will be based in London and has been with Alaska for 10 years.
Soojin Yu will serve as regional managing director for Asia, based in Seoul, and will oversee the performance of all routes in Asia. She has been with Hawaiian Airlines since 2016 as country director for South Korea, according to Alaska. Yu previously had served as marketing and communications manager for Air France-KLM.
Alaska Airlines regional director of South Pacific Andrew Stanbury will serve as regional managing director of South Pacific. He started with Hawaiian Airlines in 2019 and formerly served as managing director of international and North American sales for that carrier. Stanbury also previously held sales positions at Fiji Airways and Air New Zealand.
The airline did not indicate effective dates for any of the appointments.
Alaska since completing its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines in September 2024 has been consolidating leadership while maintaining the two individual brands.
Verkerk, Yu and Stanbury will report to Alaska VP of loyalty, partnerships and international Brett Catlin and Alaska managing director of partnerships and international Alex Judson, each of whom are based at Alaska's headquarters in Seattle.
