Alaska Airlines will boost service from
Portland, Ore., with daily round-trip service to Detroit beginning Aug. 30 and to
New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport beginning Nov. 6. Alaska holds
the largest share of flights in Portland, and the new routes will increase its
daily service from the airport to 130 daily routes to 58 destinations. In
addition, Alaska will add daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and
Philadelphia on Sept. 1, building on the California
network growth it began after merging with Virgin America in December.
