Madrid-based air reshopping tool Trappit has expanded its
operations into North America, opening a sales office in California. Former
American Express payments executive Angel Maroto is acting as CEO and general
manager in the U.S. and Canada. The tool monitors purchased tickets and
notifies travel agencies when lower fares are available for rebooking and lists
Telefonica, Banco Santander and both Deloitte and E&Y's operations in Spain
as clients. It already has begun pilot programs with corporations and travel
management companies in North America, according to Maroto.
