Travelers booking on Air Italy's website now can select X, or other, as a gender option, in addition to M for male and F for female. The carrier claims to be the first European airline to adopt the International Air Transport Association's new best-practice standard on non-binary gender options. The booking-form choice corresponds with gender neutral passports issued by countries like Canada and the Netherlands. Air Italy also has added Mx to the list of titles travelers can choose. United added nonbinary gender options U for undisclosed and X for unspecified for booking in March.
