ANA Holdings in a bid to renew its fleet has agreed to order a total of 77 new aircraft from Airbus, Boeing and Embraer "in anticipation of future growth in passenger demand, including strong inbound demand," the parent company of All Nippon Airways announced Tuesday.
The company will order 18 Boeing 787-9 aircraft "in anticipation of strong Asia-North America demand" and the expansion of Narita International Airport near Tokyo. In addition to the new planes, ANA expects to increase by fiscal year 2030 its capacity on international routes "1.5 times" compared with fiscal year 2023. ANA Holdings also agreed to order 12 Boeing 787-8 aircraft—eight confirmed with options for an additional four.
Airbus orders include 24 A321neos, 10 of which are designated for its brand Peach, along with three A321XLR aircraft, also for Peach.
Twenty Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, with 15 confirmed and options for five more, will be used for ANA-branded domestic routes "in order to adapt to future changes in the business environment." This aircraft is scheduled to be introduced in fiscal year 2028, according to the company.
ANA Holdings projects its total number of aircraft to be approximately 320 in fiscal year 2030 with about 120 Boeing 787 series planes.
