Stockholm-based flight technology provider Etraveli Group
has acquired Wenrix, an AI platform that works with travel management companies
and online travel agencies, the companies announced.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but
Etraveli said Wenrix will operate as a fully independent company within the
group with its strategy, leadership team and product roadmap unchanged. In a
statement, Wenrix CEO and co-founder Amir Balaish said the acquisition
"allows us to accelerate the scale of our platform while remaining fully
committed to our customers."
The Tel Aviv-based Wenrix's offerings include predictive
price assurance technology, which uses AI to predict how pricing will change to
optimize bookings both pre- and post-ticketing. It reports working with more
than 60 OTAs and TMCs, and Balaish told
BTN last year that via its work with TMCs, it supports more than 1,000 corporate
travel programs.
Etraveli Group, which has an existing collaboration with
Wenrix, specializes in technology for flight industry sales, fulfillment and
fintech, both operating its own OTA brands and working with global platforms
including Booking.com, Google Flights, Kayak and Skyscanner.
"Etraveli Group’s strategy is to continuously
strengthen its leading platform for selling flights and ensure it benefits the
wider air travel ecosystem," Etraveli CEO Mathias Hedlund said in a
statement. "Wenrix is a strong strategic fit with this ambition.”
