An app from travel management company FCM Travel Solutions hit the U.S. iTunes App Store on Wednesday featuring a chatbot that can assist travelers before, during and after trips on Facebook Messenger, text and other communication channels. Sam, which stands for Smart Assistant for Mobile, is intuitive and will adjust as it gets to know travelers, offering fewer information and recommendations for a traveler who visits the same destination every month, for instance. The tool also can remind travelers about company travel policy, such as prioritizing taxis over other ground transportation options. Sam also integrates with Certify and Lyft. The app also enables companies whose contracts enable the option to filter booking options by corporate policy and preferred suppliers. FCM’s existing app will stay live until all clients have switched over, and travelers still can text or call an FCM consultant round-the-clock.
