Business and group booking platform Engine has appointed Permira managing director Alex Melamud as its CFO as the company accelerates its growth and hiring plans.
With the investment firm Permira, Melamud already had helped to lead Engine's Series C financing and was serving on the company's board. Now as its CFO, he will be overseeing Engine's finance, accounting, legal and partnership functions.
"I've seen the company's momentum firsthand as a board member, and joining now as CFO is a chance to help scale something truly transformative," Melamud said in a statement.
Engine said it has now passed the 1,000-employee mark, growing from 700 employees at the start of 2025, and it plans to continue employee growth while "embracing the productivity gains made possible by AI," according to the company. The company also announced it has hired Heather Krueger, formerly Coinbase's head of talent density, as its SVP of people to advance that use of AI as its workforce grows.
