Altour has launched a new digital marketplace targeting
unmanaged, "less complicated" small and midsized travel programs, the
travel management company announced.
The platform, Altour One, was built for companies that want
to move beyond the unmanaged environment but don't need a complex, enterprise
program, the company said. Such programs generally have travelers booking
across multiple online travel agencies, aggregators and supplier sites, and
Altour said its platform can consolidate that activity with controls and
reporting.
"Too many growing businesses have been stuck having to
choose between unmanaged travel and enterprise-grade programs that are more
complex than they need them to be," Altour president Gabe Rizzi said in a
statement. "Altour One’s purpose is to close that gap. It gives small and
mid-sized organizations a modern, intuitive way to book and manage travel, with
the savings, visibility, control and traveler support they need today, and the
scalability to support them as they grow."
Companies have access to more than 400 airlines and
extensive hotel content through the platform, and the platform also integrates
with Engine to
offer prepaid refundable rates. Altour claimed that offering the options up
to travelers in a single platform can bring up to 20 percent savings to a
program.
Altour One also incorporates a "stoplight policy
system" that shows users company guidelines at the point of selection to
understand which options are within policy and which are blocked from purchase
as well as dashboards, connected payment and expense capabilities and
around-the-clock agent support, according to Altour. In addition, it includes
tools to help companies recover their unused airline credits.
Altour said that the platform can be implemented in a matter
of days and does not require a dedicated travel manager, though as companies
grow it can give them "a seamless path to more advanced managed travel
services."
