Air France-KLM passenger revenue declined 3.7
percent year over year to €4.8 billion in the fourth quarter. The company cited
soft demand to France as a result of terrorism, as well as overcapacity on some
long-haul routes. Revenue from premium traffic declined, but ancillary revenue
increased. Traffic increased 3 percent, and capacity was up 1.9 percent, raising
load factor 0.9 percentage points to 84.8 percent. For full year 2016, Air
France-KLM reported an operating profit of €1 billion, up from €780 million in
2015, an improvement "driven by the fuel tailwind and the good cost performance,"
according to the company.
