Germany-based car rental company Sixt's full-year consolidated revenue in 2024 exceeded €4 billion for the first time, representing a 10.5 percent increase year over year, the company reported Thursday.
The main revenue growth drivers included continued expansion in the company's three regional segments—Germany, Europe outside Germany, and North America—with the latter making a "substantial contribution" to the company's growth with a revenue increase of 22.2 percent compared with 2023 to €1.31 billion.
Revenue in each other market increased just less than 6 percent year over year, according to Sixt, with Germany contributing €1.14 billion and Europe excluding Germany contributing €1.55 billion. The company "moderately expanded" its fleet to 184,300 rental vehicles from 169,100 the year prior.
"2024 was a challenging year for the car rental industry," Sixt co-CEO Alexander Sixt said in a statement. "Nevertheless, we achieved record revenue for the third year in a row."
Sixt's other co-CEO, Konstantin Sixt, in a statement said that "for 2025, we expect to see another revenue record and growth of 5 percent to 10 percent driven by strong summer business in all regions."
