The U.S hotel industry saw nearly flat occupancy growth year over year in June for the second consecutive month, according to STR. Occupancy hit 73.1 percent, up 0.3 percent from last year. Average daily rate increased 3.5 percent to $126.14. Phoenix experienced the largest rise in occupancy, 7.5 percent to 62.2 percent, while Houston saw the largest drop-off, 7.7 percent to 62.2 percent. Denver posted the largest hike in ADR, 9.9 percent to $141.33, while Philadelphia reported the largest decline, 3.1 percent to $138.27.
