Shareholders of Madrid-based NH Hotel Group, at the company's annual general meeting this week, elected to remove Federico González Tejera as CEO. Also replaced at the meeting were four board members, representatives of China-based HNA Group, NH's largest shareholder with 28.5 percent of shares. NH's other shareholders asserted a conflict of interest arose after HNA announced its plans to buy Carlson Hotels in April. HNA called González Tejera's removal "clear defiance" by a group of shareholders hoping to force HNA to buy NH Hotel Group. HNA said it will not do so. Beatriz Puente will serve as CFO, Ramón Aragonés as executive managing director of business and operations and Rufino Pérez as executive managing director of corporate resources.
