Frank Pelzer
Spotnana has hired former Concur CFO Frank Pelzer as its chief operating officer, a new role at the company, Spotnana announced on Tuesday.
The hiring reunites Pelzer with Spotnana executive chairman and CEO Steve Singh, as Pelzer joined Concur as CFO in 2010 when co-founder Singh still was at the helm. Pelzer managed numerous acquisitions at Concur and saw the company through its own 2014 acquisition by SAP, where Pelzer later became president and COO of its Cloud Business Group. More recently, Pelzer was CFO at security and app services company F5.
In a statement, Singh said Pelzer is "a customer- and people-driven leader with a proven track record of scaling high-growth companies."
Pelzer joins several other former Concur executives who have joined the group of companies under Singh's investment umbrella, including Center SVP of travel ecosystem Amy Padgett and Direct Travel EVP of customer experience Dave Breslin. In a blog post published by Spotnana, Pelzer said completing "unfinished business" from Concur at the time of the SAP acquisition was one of the reasons he joined Spotnana.
"Concur was on a mission to create the perfect trip, but we could not fully achieve this because we didn’t own many of the data inputs related to travel providers and travel content," Pelzer said in the blog post. "Spotnana, with its modern technology and its relationships with [travel management companies] and travel providers, offers a unique opportunity to significantly enhance the travel experience for corporate and leisure travelers."
