BTN Names Richard Wooten Travel Manager Of The Year
Business Travel News last night named as 2005 Travel Manager of the Year Richard Wooten, director of corporate travel for Lockheed Martin. BTN editor-in-chief David Meyer cited Wooten “for opening negotiating doors and continuing to push the travel management technology envelope as well as demonstrating a continued commitment to sharing information and ideas that advance industry practices.”
Wooten won this year’s award for his successful efforts to get his travel management services partners TQ3 Navigant and GetThere to develop real-time pre-trip approvals and unused ticket exchange technology, to convince two low-cost carriers to change their approach to corporate discounting and global distribution systems participation and to use senior management support to roll out a mandated global travel policy.
