Navan has released a new "Expense Chat" feature to help business travelers submit out-of-pocket expenses, the company announced.
The feature was developed to handle situations in which expenses previously had to be entered manually, such as mileage reimbursement or purchases where corporate cards are not accepted. With Navan Expense Chat, travelers can enter their mileage reimbursements and multiple receipt images in chat simultaneously, where the agent pulls merchant data, codes expenses and asks for any information that is missing. Travelers can further refine entries with natural language, such as noting if part of a purchase is personal or adding product codes across multiple purchases, according to Navan.
Expense Chat currently is available for Navan's U.S. customers. Navan said it has seen "substantial week-over-week growth" in use of the feature as it has conducted an initial phased rollout.
In a statement, Navan chief product officer Yuval Refua said the feature is "one more piece in our strategy to replace every manual touchpoint in the industry with an agentic workflow."
