Expense management platform Expensify has launched a Model Context Protocol layer through which clients can make their expense data accessible to AI assistants, the company announced.
With Expensify MCP, Expensify clients can let such AI assistants as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and OpenClaw access their expense data without manual integrations, CSV exports or custom scripts, according to Expensify. With that access, users can ask natural language questions about their expenses—specifics on spending or reports pending approval, for example.
"As software shifts from menus and forms toward conversational interfaces, businesses will expect every product to work seamlessly with AI agents," Expensify founder and CEO David Barrett said in a statement. "MCP is quickly becoming the standard for how AI systems interact with external services, and we want Expensify to be accessible wherever our customers are working."
Expensify said the MCP is available to anyone with a validated Expensify account.
