Worldspan today said it forged a deal with New York-based FareChase Inc. to present airline Web fares to travel agency clients and customers of Worldspan's Trip Manager, and allow them to integrate booked itineraries into the agency's back-office system. FareChase estimated that the technology--including the ability to recognize users and grant automated access to airline Web sites--will be up and running by year-end.
FareChase last month rolled out Web fare booking capability for Sabre, but activity on the interface during early weeks was "very low," according to Ellen Keszler, Sabre senior vice president of North America travel agency solutions. FareChase also has deals with Amadeus' E-Travel, I:FAO and Outtask
