Virgin America's initial public offering of 13.3 million shares on Friday began trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
Virgin priced the shares—13.1 million offered by Virgin and about 230,000 offered by an employee stock ownership vehicle—at $23. Shares, trading under the ticker symbol "VA," opened $4 higher at $27.
