The U.S. Department of Transportation tentatively approved an application by Brazilian airline Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras to launch U.S. service,

according to a DOT order issued Wednesday. Azul, founded by JetBlue Airways and WestJet Airlines co-founder David Neeleman, in June indicated plans to launch in 2014 daily service from São Paulo Viracopos-Campinas International Airport to Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International and Orlando International airports, with daily New York JFK service beginning next year.
