Transportation
The House Republican Conference picked Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) to serve as the new chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,
replacing John Mica (R-Fla.). Shuster has been a member of the committee since being elected to Congress in 2001 and has served as chair of two subcommittees. Mica, who had chaired or been ranking member on the influential committee for the past six years, this month won re-election for an eleventh congressional term but House Republicans normally limit to six years the terms served by its committee leaders.
