Suppliers Board Green Bandwagon
A relatively sudden wave of corporate travel suppliers and associations have launched tools designed to measure and offset the environmental cost of business travel, or partnered with firms that already have them.
These tools—offered by associations, hotels, travel management companies, technology firms and others—more often than not include a calculator that measures carbon emissions of booked flights. While U.S. corporations, with a few notable exceptions, haven't made green travel and meetings a priority to the point that it changes purchasing decisions, environmental friendliness is a key factor in some European negotiations. That said, many U.S. companies have added questions about supplier environmental policy in recent requests for proposals, and travel suppliers are positioning themselves for such a future.
