Delta Air Lines today said it will roll out Prism's Corporate Data Solutions product by the spring of 2003 in order to collect, report and track corporate sales and contract information. Prism Group already provides its product to United, Northwest and Continental airlines.
"We do expect that all corporate accounts will use the system, but the accounts that choose not to participate should know that their decision will have an impact on their Delta agreement," said Delta spokesperson Janice Logue.
Continental in 2000 mandated that those seeking custom contracts must provide it with data via Prism
(BTN, Aug. 14, 2000). To date, about 3,000 companies have furnished the participating carriers with data from Prism, but privacy concerns recently have led to the masking of certain data fields. According to Delta, Prism's Corporate Data Solutions has established appropriate physical, electronic and managerial safeguards to protect information.
Delta's move leaves American Airlines and US Airways as the only two of the Big Six airlines not working with Prism. Last month, AA said it would continue using its own internal processes, while US Airways said customizing its corporate programs ultimately would require some method of automation
(BTN, Oct. 14).
