Appalled By Oakland Airport's Disrepair And Poor Service
Appalled By Oakland Airport's Disrepair And Poor Service
The article, "Oakland Stepping Into The Business Travel Limelight" (BTN, March 12), caught my attention since, for the past several years, I've occasionally flown Southwest Airlines in and out of Oakland Airport.
It is my experience that, "under the leadership of Mayor Jerry Brown," the Oakland Airport has become perhaps the dumpiest, dirtiest, most overpriced for parking and least customer-friendly airport on the planet.
I took a picture of the deplorable, disrepair of the waiting area seats, and I am sending you a photocopy of it as an example that money collected from Oakland air travelers via ticket taxes and parking fees likely are funding the politicians' pet projects, and not the airport.
I should have taken a photo of the shuttle bus stop, where all but a few customers wait in the rain for a rental car, off-airport parking shuttles, etc. Not even a tin roof canopy. Outrageous!
God help the people who "Step into the Limelight" via Oakland Airport.
