Amtrak for July reported a 2.7 percent year-over-year increase in Northeast Corridor customers,

including 4.2 percent more travelers on Acela Express trains. In the October 2012-July 2013 period, however, Acela Express ridership declined 1.9 percent. Across all its services, Amtrak claimed to transport more passengers in July than in any other month in its history, and noted "strong ticket sales forecasted for the final two months of the fiscal year."
