American Airlines has applied for a codeshare agreement with Korean Air for AA's flights between Dallas and Seoul.
Pending regulatory approval, the two carriers plan to add Korean's code to those flights in April, which would allow Korean Air Skypass members to earn miles on those flights, according to AA. The agreement crosses alliances, as AA is a member of Oneworld, and Korean is a member of SkyTeam. AA began service between Dallas and Seoul in May 2013 and said the agreement with Korean Air was "the next step in strengthening our position in Asia, allowing us to win new customers in the region," according to AA senior vice president of alliances and partnerships Kurt Stache.
